Soup
Plus has definitely closed.
Unfortunately the
Soup was not viable in its current format. Sydney has lost an icon and
it will be missed by many.
If you like
jazz, blues, funk or swing, then Soup Plus (was) is the place for you.
In a world where change is constant, Soup Plus has
been a contrast - there was no need to change the basic concept of
presenting live music from some of the best local, interstate and
overseas performers in a relaxed atmosphere with good food and drink at
reasonable prices. Unfortunately time did take its toll on the premises
occupied by the Soup for nearly 30 years and
the hard decision had to be made to move. So on 17 December 2004, Soup Plus
opened its new doors at 1 Margaret Street, Sydney (cnr Clarence St). But don't worry, we have taken all the best of Soup Plus

Now
Soup Plus is located in premises that have been designed to be a music
venue. And finally there is room to dance to the music.
There is generally a $10.00 - $12.00 door charge Monday to
Thursday nights and $35.00 on Friday and Saturday nights which includes a two
course meal ($15 covercharge for entry only). Bands play 7.30pm - 11.30 pm Monday to Friday and 8.30pm - midnight
Saturday. Large groups can be catered for. It is
advisable to book, on 9299 7728.
Here you are welcome, if you are
hungry for a good, honest selection of food and great live music, jazz and
swing bands every night. And the Soup is also open for lunch, from 12.00
midday Monday to Friday, with John Hawksworth on piano.
Soup Plus is also available for private and corporate functions for up
to 200 people. Typical functions we have already hosted include company
breakfast meetings, after work club meetings, corporate client
entertainment and fund raisers. Contact the restaurant direct on 9299
